Haus Elisabeth - Care Facility

The bishops of St. Andrä didn't even have their own house; they resided, for example, in Friesach or on the Twimberg Fortress in Wolfsberg. Only over time, through the purchase of adjacent citizens' houses, could the so-called "Bishop's Court" be established, which was expanded into the episcopal residence in the 17th century. After relocating the bishopric to Marburg in 1859, the Jesuit order acquired the residence. Today, the building serves as a senior citizens' residence for Caritas under the name "Haus Elisabeth."
